Stud Piloted wheels are centered on the studs or bolt holes of the hub. The bolt holes edges are tapered or chamfered – not straight
Often referred to as Budd Style wheels or Budd wheels. Stud Piloted wheel measurements are often referenced in inches whereas Hub Piloted are in millimeters (mm).
Stud piloted dual wheels use inner and outer cap nuts, so that each wheel is tightened individually. For a front or single wheel, a single cap nut is used. Right and left hand fasteners are required. Wheels of this type have spherical countersinks on each stud hole.
